Your Key to Palestine
The Palestinian Initiatives for The Promotoion of Global Dialogue and Democracy

This appeal also goes out to people involved in the International Solidarity Movement and the Israeli peace movement

We are organising an event called Every Day Palestine, a public reading which will take place in Central London.

We want accounts, stories and diaries of daily life in the Palestinian Occupied Territories.

How do you spend your day? What is life like for you? Do you keep a diary? Can you write to us about a day in your life?

Many people here know very little about what you are living through. We are organising this event so you can tell them

We will read out what you write. People in London will hear your words and be able to understand what life is like for you.

Put pen to paper. Get typing.

Please send us your stories and ask your friends and family to send theirs. We are looking for material from a wide variety of people, of all ages and situations including children.

Send your stories, accounts, letters or diaries by email to:

everydaypalestine@meetingground.demon.co.uk

If your account is not in English or you do not have email send it by fax to:

We can translate from Arabic and other languages

Who are we and what do we do?

In May this year, we staged an event called PALESTINE VERBATIM in Trafalgar Square. British actors, poets, film-makers, teachers and activists read out personal accounts of life in the Occupied Territories of Palestine during the recent re-occupation.

The material had been sent to the organisers or collected from websites. There were no political speeches, just the words of people over there read by people over here and listened to in a public space.

We watch news on TV and hear what politicians say, but an account of people's experience, the one thing, which might help us really understand, is absent. So, we are none the wiser. This event was an attempt to make space for these personal stories and everybody that was present felt its impact.

Now we are preparing another event giving voice to people over there, exploring how you are coping, what you are thinking and feeling and what your daily life is like in your own words.
