Your Key to Palestine
The Palestinian Initiatives for The Promotoion of Global Dialogue and Democracy

There is a lot to be done. We have to ask for the liberation of the Palestinian prisoners in Israeli hands. We must demand a stop to targeted assassinations. We must insist on the right of return of the Palestinian refugees, and their adequate compensations for sufferings and loss of property. We must campaign for a boycott of Israeli products.

No one of these demands should be forgotten. However, comes a time at which we have to decide on a focus point. And the focus point today should be:

that the disengagement from Gaza, has to be followed by a total disengagement from the West Bank, leading to the formation of a Palestinian state sovereign on its land, shore, borders and sky, and having East Jerusalem as its Capital.

This focus is a total challenge to the expansionist establishment. Sharon and their likes will never give in to the demand implied by the focus. And because this vital task is so difficult to accomplish, it is vital to realize what it demands from the Palestinian leadership, from all Palestinians and all their friends.

1) The first necessary tool is the unity in the Palestinian ranks. Let us postpone all the differences we may have on other question of policy and agree that the paragraph in bold defines the focus of all of us regardless of our differences.

2) Let us accept gratefully the support of all people who agree to support us in our focus, even if they are Zionists. We are in no position to disdain the help of anyone who supports our focus. Today he might not be willing to go further. Tomorrow, when the object of the focus will be realized, he may come closer.

3) The first step is to put a wedge between the Israelis and their expansionist leadership. The efficiency of the wedge will greatly depend on our ability to draw to the focus' support the greater number of Israelis, whether otherwise they are Zionists or not. At this step, the only thing we request from an ally, is to support the focus' demand..

4) The allies we are considering, may be afraid that once the focus is realized, we will move to other demands. We must be clear that a sovereign Palestinian state will not pursue by violence any further demand. We do hope that the creation of a sovereign Palestinian state will be followed by friendly relations between the two states and, in time, will create an atmosphere devoid of fear where all further problems can be discussed with the understanding that solutions must be agreeable to both states.
