When Mohammad Saadeh's mother saw LAW's press release, "LAW to investigate the killing of Maher al-Jizmawi (17)" on January 29 2003, she turned to LAW's lawyer in Tulkarem, adv. Khaled Yassin. Her son, Mohammad Saadeh (19) was also killed in the same extra-judicial assassination. Yassin recalled how determined she looked, carrying her papers, to get some justice, to demand that Israel investigates how, exactly, her son died.

Mohammad was killed on August 7, 2002 in Tulkarem in an Israeli extra- judicial assassination attempt on Ziyad Daas. Three people were killed in the attempt, including Mohammad while walking down the stairs from his family home, leading to their car mechanic workshop.

His mother told LAW that around 9am on that day, while she was in the house in the south-west of Tulkarem city, near Haddadin street, her son was preparing to go to work their mechanic car garage under their home. She then heard bullets, and saw men in civilian clothing who began to fire indiscriminately at people in the area. She later found out they were Israeli Special Forces.

Immediately she called her son's mobile phone. Her husband, who was in the mechanic workshop told her that Mohammad had been killed. Her husband asked her to raise a white cloth and come down to the street to help him carry their son. However, the Israeli forces in the area assisting the Special Forces forbade her from getting out of the house.

It turns out that Mohammad was shot in the chest. After being injured, he attempted to enter the workshop. However an Israeli soldier opened fire at him again, with another bullet in his chest. He fell down and died.

Israeli forces did not allow paramedics to approach the area. All three injured people were left to bleed to death, including Maher Jizmawi and Mohammad Saadeh. LAW shall be following this case closely
