On Tuesday evening, April 8, 2003, Israeli troops committed yet another extra judicial execution in Gaza city. The Israeli execution targeted Sa'ad al-Arabeed; seven people were killed in the Israeli operation including al-Arabeed and his aid. Scores of Palestinian civilians were wounded in the Israeli onslaught including eight in critical condition.

The attack was carried out when two Israeli fighter jets (F16) and an Apache gunship opened fire on a Palestinian-registered vehicle east of Gaza city killing its passengers, according to the Palestinian Center for Human Rights or PCHR. The attack killed Sa'ad al-Arabeed (35) and his aid Ashraf al-Halabi (28).

The Apache gunship then opened fire on Palestinian crowds in the site of the incident killing five including two children and wounding 53 including 23 children. A number of civilian properties were damaged in the Israeli attack, which took place in a crowded residential area.

The killed are: Ahmad al-Ashram (13), Sami Qasim (16), Omar Nasar (21), Mohammad Basal (20), and Mahmoud Farawna (30).

LAW strongly condemns Israel's policy of extra judicial execution, which is a blatant violation of international conventions. LAW asserts that such Israeli attacks aim to kill as many Palestinians as possible.

LAW callas upon the international community to set up a war crime court and bring Israeli perpetrators to justice.
