MIFTAH collected testimonies from women running aid organizations in Gaza. These women have become the backbones of their communities, putting their lives at risk to provide essential services for the people around them even though they themselves are displaced, living in tents, and in need of essential services.
Hope Springs Eternal: Education Despite Scholasticide

During the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip, Israel has indiscriminately targeted every aspect of Palestinian life, including teachers, students, professors, schools and universities.
This is an all out educide and scholasticide, with over 11,700 school and university students killed so far since the genocide started. Israel’s genocidal war has also destroyed 80% of civilian infrastructure including damage to nearly 95% of Gaza’s schools and has targeted every single university.
As the genocide enters its second year, 700,000 Palestinian children and 88,000 university students are missing their second year of education now.
Schools that are still standing have become shelters housing thousands of displaced Palestinians, which did not spare them from being targeted by Israeli bombardment. Despite this, students and teachers in Gaza are continuing their education, setting up makeshift classrooms in shelters, tents, or destroyed buildings.
From Gaza to West Bank: Israel's relentless destruction

For the past year, Israel escalated its assault on the occupied West Bank and accelerated killings, forced displacement, state-sanctioned settler terrorism and mass arbitrary arrests. This has been happening amid Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza, employing the same tactics of violence, destruction, and displacement.
In September 2024, Israel launched a major coordinated military invasion of major areas in the West Bank, the biggest since the early 2000s, particularly in the northern areas of Jenin and Tulkarem.
