Call for Crime Investigation

A vicious cold blooded murder was committed on Friday evening, October 11, 2002. The Israeli Defense Force killed Mrs. Shaden Saleh, age 60, wife of Dr. Gamal Abu Hijleh, and mother of Saed, Raed , Rami and Lana. The Israeli patrol killed Shaden as she was doing her embroidery at the door step of her house port some twenty meters away from the street. No demonstrations, no stone throwing, no after prayer riots as Ha'aretz correspondent placed it in Sunday 13 October issue, as it was sunset time and the Friday prayer is at noon time. Shaden is one of the prominent members of the society, known with her vivid social activity. Shaden was killed in cold blood.

We call upon friends and supporters to act urgently to denounce such murders, act with all possible means to call the murderers for criminal courts trials, and to call upon the international community to apply the Geneva Convention Articles 16 and 50, to protect the Palestinian civilians, in particular women and children, from such malice and ethnic cleansing methods acted upon them by the occupation army. Should there be no prosecutions in criminal courts to such crimes, the Israeli soldiers will utilize more and more the "license to kill Palestinians" granted to them by their leaders. This medieval barbarism, we demand, should be stopped by all means. I trust for your urgent action.
