Three Palestinians, all members of Hamas’ military wing, the Izzedin Qassam Brigades, were shot and killed by Israeli occupation forces this morning, according to Palestinian medical sources, which said they found the bodies of the three and one injured man at the scene. Israeli sources claim the men were members of the leftist Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

The shooting took place in the Hajar Al Deek area in the eastern Gaza Strip near the Nahal Oz crossing, equipped with an Israeli-installed electronic border fence. According to Israeli military sources, the three were planning on planting explosive devices along the fence when they were spotted and killed.

According to Palestinian medical sources from the Shifa’ Hospital in Gaza City, the three were identified as: Abdul Halim Al Fayyoumi 27, Saed Hillis 21, and Mohammed Al Saqqi, 24. The fourth man, Mohammed Zeidiya 20, was shot and wounded in the thigh.

Hamas has warned Israel that the current precarious ceasefire between the Palestinians and Israel would not hold if Israel continued to attack the Palestinians. Last week, in the wake of nine Palestinian deaths at the hands of the Israeli army, Hamas lashed out, warning that “the truce is not for free,” saying that if it was not a mutual ceasefire, Hamas would not continue to hold up its end of the bargain.

In breaking news posted on the Maan website, Palestinian sources in Gaza also reported the death of Shadi Abu Thaher northeast of Khan Younis in the Kissofim area. According to newsflash, Abu Thaher was killed when he received a direct hit from an Israeli artillery shell, which reportedly sliced him in half.
