A New Murder

The murder happened yesterday in Qarawet Bani Zayd north of Ramallah. This time the turn was for a mother of seven children and a 17-year-old student when the Israeli soldiers crashed in Qarawet Bani zayd and opened fire randomly at people just in the time when children were leaving school on their way home.

Four Israeli military Jeeps entered the village and opened fire randomly, Nizar Khalil the 17 year old high school student was one of the children who reacted to this by throwing stones at the Israeli military Jeeps who replied by shooting Nizar. Some women who were at the scene rushed to help him, Rasmia Arar, 35-year-old woman, was one of these women. As she was helping, she was shot in her stomach, which caused an internal bleeding that led to her death as hospital officials said.

The Israeli Occupation Forces re-imposed a total closure on Ramallah preventing hundreds of students and workers reaching their jobs and the nearby University of Birzeit.

A new murder and a new story in the record of the Palestinian forgotten war. Peace agreements are on their way one after the other without having any peace. Non-stop raids to the Palestinian cities and villages killing people every day and wounding others, arresting some and demolishing the houses of others. These raids disturb people's lives leaving them not knowing when Israelis might enter again to kill a new person.

According to Abdel Karim Jassir, the mayor of Bany Zead, he said that he can’t understand why there has been so many invasions to their village especially when one considers that it is located far from settlements and by pass roads.

We in the PWWSD see such acts as being deliberate only to spread chaos in the Palestinian villages and cities. We urge upon the international community to act in front of the Isreali violations of the International Humanitarian Law and Human rights Laws.
