The Israeli Army arrests peace activists

In the early hours of this morning the Israeli Army committed another crime adding to the list of crimes perpetrated by Israel not only against Palestinians but also against Israeli citizens and international activists.

As the Israeli troops and bulldozers approached a Palestinian house near the village of Misha with the intent of destroying it and erecting in its place the infamous wall of hatred and apartheid, they were faced with Forty-one activists who were on the site trying to protect the Palestinian family and their house from destruction, with their bodies. the Israeli Army attacked the group amongst whom were thirty five foreigners and six Israelis, arrested most of them and transferred them to a nearby police station in the settlement of ariel.

Instead of adhering to its obligation and commitments, this Israeli government headed by Ariel sharon, is bent on escalating tension during these very critical times.

Its unrelenting efforts at establishing facts on the ground by building settlements and the oppressive Wall which is turning Palestinian towns and villages into virtual prisons, will inevitably preempt any future possibility to establish a viable independent Palestinian state.

While strongly condemning such Israeli acts we express our deepest solidarity with our Israelis and internationals friends who have been arrested and harassed and call upon all peace loving forces in Israel and in the whole world to raise their voices in condemning acts and to strengthen our struggle to destroy the wall of oppression, hatred and Apartheid.
