During the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip, Israel has indiscriminately targeted every aspect of Palestinian life, including teachers, students, professors, schools and universities.

This is an all out educide and scholasticide, with over 11,700 school and university students killed so far since the genocide started. Israel’s genocidal war has also destroyed 80% of civilian infrastructure including damage to nearly 95% of Gaza’s schools and has targeted every single university.

As the genocide enters its second year, 700,000 Palestinian children and 88,000 university students are missing their second year of education now.

Schools that are still standing have become shelters housing thousands of displaced Palestinians, which did not spare them from being targeted by Israeli bombardment. Despite this, students and teachers in Gaza are continuing their education, setting up makeshift classrooms in shelters, tents, or destroyed buildings.
