The Moscow Talks
By MIFTAH

The multilateral track is primarily intended to act as a support system to the bilateral tracks. Yet, in light of the current Israeli violations and the detrimental obstacles that the Barak government is placing, very little progress can be expected from the ongoing meetings being held in Moscow by the Steering Committee of the Multilateral Negotiations.

MIFTAH affirms that both tracks of the negotiations must be based on the principles of parity and mutual respect. Without playing the old argument of “the chicken and the egg,” it seems clear that the bilateral track has a long way to go before an effective peace deal could be reached.

In short, the issue at hand is not the apparatus of the negotiations; rather, it is their content.
