JERUSALEM – Yesterday evening in the Jordanian capital, Amman, the world at large was reminded yet again of the horrific effect global terrorism has on innocent civilians, when three suicide bombers killed as many as 67 people and injured over 200. The explosions took place almost simultaneously at the three prominent hotels, the SAS Radisson, Grand Hyatt and Days Inn.

Jordanian deputy Prime Minister Marwam al Muashar said, “Two human bombers attacked the Grand Hyatt and the nearby Radisson SAS. The Days Inn attack was carried out by an explosives-laden vehicle that blew up outside the hotel after failing to cross a police line.”

MIFTAH unequivocally condemns these horrific and indiscriminate terrorist attacks, and firmly believes there is no justification whatsoever for them. Furthermore, MIFTAH would like to extend its condolences and solidarity to all those injured and affected by the events that took place in Amman.

Finally MIFTAH, would like to see all the perpetrators involved in this most outrageous attack to be swiftly brought to justice, and calls on the international community to step up its efforts to ensure the safety of all innocent civilians around the world, regardless of their nationality, race, gender or religion.

The Palestinian Initiative for the Promotion of Global Dialogue and Democracy, MIFTAH, is a non-governmental, non-partisan Jerusalem-based institution dedicated to fostering democracy and good governance within Palestinian society through promoting public accountability, transparency, the free flow of information and ideas and the challenging of stereotyping at home and abroad.
